Continental Sport Contact 2 SSR 225/45 R17 91W * Normal Tyre
As the driver of a sporty passenger car, you’ll want to zoom along the highway in style. However, driving at high speeds places great demands on the tyre model you are using.
The Continental Sport Contact 2 SSR really is the ideal summer tyre for fast cars. As the figure ‘2’ reveals, this is the successor to the first Sport Contact, which already impressed several automobile magazines.
With the Sport Contact 2 SSR, the German manufacturer has reduced the tyre’s rolling resistance, which gives the tyre model a quiet running noise even at high speeds of up to 270 kph (170 mph). The speed index W indicates that the Continental Sport Contact 2 SSR is approved for this top speed.
The Continental Sport Contact 2 SSR’s impressive features include:
– Good runflat properties in the event of a puncture
– Reduced rolling resistance and therefore a quieter running noise
– Reduced braking distances
For the Sport Contact 2 SSR, Continental has once again chosen to develop an SSR model. SSR stands for ‘Self Supporting Runflat Tyre’ and enables the tyre model to keep driving for several miles, even with a loss of pressure.
If you do not have a spare tyre or would rather not change the tyre on the motorway, you can head for a garage that is within an 80 kilometre (50 mile) radius of your position.
However, the previous limit of 270 kph (170 mph) no longer applies when you have a puncture. Instead, the maximum speed limit is 80 kph (50 mph).
